We’re a month away from Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023, which will be taking place April 7-10 in London. Star Wars recently announced the full list of panels that will be featured at the popular fan convention.
The biggest headliner of them all will kick off Celebration, much like last year, with the Lucasfilm’s Studio Showcase. The panel will happen on Friday, April 7 from 11:00AM-12:30PM, and it will focus on live-action projects from the studio. It will include The Mandalorian and Andor, as well as much more. It’s quite likely we’ll get updates on Ahsoka, Skeleton Crew, and maybe even The Acolyte, as well as Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, but it also is likely to be the place where Lucasfilm reveals plans for the next Star Wars theatrical film(s). This will surely be the panel that gets people talking.
But there are also tons of other interesting panels too. On Saturday, April 8, from 11:00AM-12:00PM, Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau will be part of a panel all about Ahsoka, which I’m super excited about. Later that day is a panel about The High Republic (1:00-2:00PM) as well as a panel celebrating the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi (2:00-3:00PM), and then the final panel of the day is a look back at The Clone Wars for the 15th anniversary (5:30-6:30PM).
Sunday, April 9, will see a panel from Lucasfilm Publishing (5:30-6:30PM), while the final day, Monday, April 10, features a panel about The Bad Batch (11:00AM-12:00PM), Marvel Comics (12:30-1:30PM), Visions Volume 2 (1:00-2:00PM), and the Closing Ceremony (4:00-5:00PM).
And all of those panels that I’ve mentioned are just a few of the more notable ones that I’ve singled out, but there are plenty of others too. You can see the full list here.
It was also announced that Star Wars Celebration LIVE! is returning, meaning that fans will be able to watch from home. The livestream will be hosted by Anthony Carboni, Krystina Arielle, Kristin Baver, and Jamie Stangroom, and it will feature guests, interviews, and select panels. It’s great news that the livestream is back, but there’s a lot of “let’s wait and see” from Star Wars fans after the extremely disappointing livestream in 2022 – which was well-done but featured none of the panels that fans were most excited about. There is a bit of reason for hope this year, given the fact that the big panels are streaming to other stages this year (which wasn’t the case a year ago) and that it’s in Europe (making it a bit harder for fans in America to get there), so perhaps we’ll actually get to see some of the big stuff.
Regardless, we’re getting close to Celebration, which will be a time filled with announcements and highlighting the massive volume of content that’s being produced. I can’t wait!
