A LEGO Star Wars adaptation of The Mandalorian is coming to Disney+ on September 2

A brand new LEGO Star Wars special is coming this fall.

Releasing on Disney+ on September 2, LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian is a re-telling of all three seasons of the show in classic LEGO fashion. And that means plenty of jokes, comedic moments, and poking fun at the franchise we all know and love.

The trailer for this special was released recently, showing Peli Motto narrating the story of the first episode, saying “the end”… only to be corrected that there’s much more. And Migs Mayfeld was a part of, like, 20% of it! We see Grogu using the Force on the Mudhorn, as Kuiil tells Din Djarin it’s called the Force – prompting Mando to comment that they need more creative names. Or we see Luke Skywalker cut down the Dark Troopers, revealing his hood, and expecting everyone to know who he is as they stare on blankly.

It’s this type of humor that makes the LEGO Star Wars specials perfect. The jokes are made in good taste, the stories are told well, and they’re good fun for kids and adults alike.

We’ve had a lot of LEGO Star Wars projects recently, with The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special (2020), Terrifying Tales (2021), Summer Vacation (2022), and the Rebuild the Galaxy series (2024-2025). It alway makes for a good time.

This is the first time that Disney+ has released a full adaptation in LEGO form, but it makes sense given that The Mandalorian and Grogu was the most recent theatrical film. That movie actually drops on Disney+ the same day this LEGO special does, so it’s going to be a full celebration of The Mandalorian that day.
