Epic first trailer and poster for Ahsoka season two released!

It has been a long wait for the second season of Ahsoka, but it looks like it will be more than worth it.

At D23 late Friday night, the first trailer was released, and it looks like a significant step up in production quality and visuals from the first season. The trailer showcases Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, both in flashbacks and as a Force ghost, still training Ahsoka Tano as he asks the question: “are you a Jedi?” Ahsoka and her own padawan, Sabine Wren, are still stranded in another galaxy on Peridia, as are Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati. Skoll, it seems, is after a power he believes can end all war.

While that happens in another galaxy, the “known” Star Wars galaxy is thrust into war. Grand Admiral Thrawn announces his triumphant return to restore the glorious Empire, declaring war on the “Rebel alliance”. The trailer shows lots of different shots of a massive space battle, between Thrawn’s Imperial remnant fleet and Hera Syndulla’s New Republic fleet. Presumably this is the long-anticipated showdown as Thrawn and Admiral Ackbar go head-to-head commanding their respective fleets.

There’s also footage of Ezra Bridger embracing Garazeb Orrellios in a big hug, and Ezra fighting Captain Enoch, who looks to wield a lazer sword much like Morgan Elsbeth’s. Thrawn is also allied with the Nightsisters, who appear to be back in a big way, both infiltrating New Republic ship and with fighting happening on Dathomir.

It all looks fantastic, and it will be here before we know it. We’ve known it was coming early next year, but now we have a release date: Ahsoka season two will premiere on Disney+ on January 20, 2027.

Alongside the trailer, a new poster was released for the series, with Ahsoka in the foreground and Thrawn’s face looming in the background.

I’m very excited for this series, and the trailer has me even more hyped than I was. Though it will be nearly three and a half years in-between seasons, it looks like the delay has led to a jump in production quality, which is great. This truly looks cinematic in scale and scope, and I can’t wait to see it.
