A Disney+ account seemingly confirmed Rosario Dawson and Timothy Olyphant are in The Mandalorian season two

Back in March, it was widely reported that Rosario Dawson would be appearing in the second season of The Mandalorian as the fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano!

A month later, Dawson seemed to all-but-confirm the reports without actually confirming them. But thus far, Lucasfilm has not given any sort of ‘official’ word on the reports… but we may have just recently got it. The Disney+ account in Germany posted to their Instagram story a promo for The Mandalorian that includes some of the cast:

You’ll notice that mentioned in the promo is Rosario Dawson, Timothy Olyphant, and Sasha Banks. That’s noteworthy. Banks, of course, was seen in the trailer for the show, leading to all sorts of speculation over who she is playing. Dawson, as previously mentioned, is widely reported to be playing Ahsoka Tano, the former Jedi padawan of Anakin Skywalker who has grown into a massive fan-favorite. And then there’s Olyphant. In May it was reported that he would appear in the show wearing Boba Fett’s armor, but that he would actually be playing Cobb Vanth. Readers of the Aftermath series of books will likely rememer him, as he took on Fett’s armor and established himself as the sheriff of Freetown on Tatooine.

There really hasn’t been any reason whatsoever to doubt those previous reports, but the Disney+ account in Germany apparently mentioning it on Instagram seems like the closest we’ve gotten to ‘official’ confirmation. And I think it’s really exciting. Obviously the biggest story is that Ahsoka will be making her live-action debut, but I also think this is the perfect way to introduce Vanth to a wider audience, as this seems like the kind of story that he would fit in perfectly with.

Plus, that might pave the way for Boba Fett to show up too, as has also been reported. This season can’t get here soon enough!
