The High Republic publishing initiative will be launching in January, but it certainly won’t end there!
In a panel promoting the project yesterday, it was revealed that second wave will include Cavan Scott writing a novel, the second one in the era! There’s no title, cover, or plot synopsis yet, but it will be releasing on July 6, 2021!
Additionally, it sounds like other phase two projects will also include a young adult novel by Justina Ireland and a junior novel by Daniel José Older. Another fun reveal is that Star Wars Insider will again be publishing exclusive short stories, which begins this December with a High Republic short story written by Charles Soule.
So actually, our first look at the High Republic will come in December with Insider, to be followed up by the widespread launch of the project in January. Charles Soule’s novel Light of the Jedi will release on January 5, 2021, as will Justina Ireland’s A Test of Courage. A month later, on February 2, 2021, Claudia Gray‘s Into the Dark will be released. Cavan Scott and Daniel José Older are each writing separate comic series from the era, though I haven’t seen an updated release date for them yet.
All of that is just phase one, and phase two will continue the project later in 2021. I can’t wait for all of this!
