Recently, reports emerged that Rosario Dawson would play fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano in the second season of The Mandalorian.
Variety asked her about that, and though her answer couldn’t confirm or deny it, it sounds like it’s definitely happening. Here’s her answer:
“That’s not confirmed yet but when that happens, I will be very happy. I’m very excited for that to be confirmed at some point,” she said, adding it would be “a million and one percent because of the fans.”
That’s not just the same typical bland ‘can’t confirm nor deny’ answer that often is given by people. Basically, she’s saying that even though it’s not confirmed, it will be confirmed at some point.
So that’s exciting. As she mentions, it would be because of the fans, and that’s because she has been the popular fan choice to play Ahsoka in live-action for a while now. Rarely do those fan castings actually happen, but it seems like this might be one of those times. I’ll be extremely sad that Ashley Eckstein is no longer voicing Ahsoka, but hopefully Dawson delivers a performance like Alden Ehrenreich did in Solo, where we forget about the actor change and just enjoy the same fan-favorite character we grew to love.
