There are plenty of people really excited about LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, the latest and largest LEGO game ever made.
But the game, which has hardly been promoted much at all, keeps getting delayed. And that is, unfortunately, the case yet again. TT Games posted yesterday that they won’t be able to make the spring release date:
Originally announced in the summer of 2019, the reveal trailer for the game said, “Coming 2020.” But from there, we heard basically nothing about the game until the following summer, when we got a full trailer for the game. At that point, it was intended to release “Spring 2021.” So it was already delayed, but given the COVID-19 pandemic, that wasn’t much of a surprise. Yet here we are again, with the game delayed – and this time, it seems indefinite. No new release timeframe was given.
It’s very likely that this newest delay is also Covid-related, since delays are happening all across the gaming industry. I think we’re learning that release dates in 2021 are only approximate, and we’ve got to be understanding of that. And I’m guessing that’s why, this time around, we weren’t given a new timeframe for this game’s release, as fans are already growing frustrated by the repeated delays. Many might readily echo the words of Grand Moff Tarkin: “After so many setbacks and delays, and now this.”
I’m super excited about this game, and I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait. I love the LEGO Star Wars games, and this one is the biggest and most ambitious yet. It will feature (at least) all nine films of the Skywalker Saga, as well as around 300 playable characters!
