A number of classic Star Wars shows arrive on Disney+ today under the “Vintage” label!

We’re getting new Star Wars content on Disney+ TODAY!

In fairness it’s not brand new, but it certainly is new to Disney+, and it’s been long-awaited. Arriving today to the streaming platform is material from the newly-branded Star Wars: Vintage Collection, which is made up of older material no longer considered canon. That includes:

  • Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure
  • Ewoks: The Battle for Endor
  • Star Wars: Clone Wars – Volume 1
  • Star Wars: Clone Wars – Volume 2
  • Star Wars: Ewoks (Season 1)
  • Star Wars: Ewoks (Season 2)
  • The Story of the Faithful Wookiee

If you’re unfamiliar with all of those titles, here’s what we’re getting: the two live-action Ewok films (Caravan of Courage and The Battle for Endor), both seasons of the animated Ewoks series, both volumes of the first Clone Wars series (the one by Genndy Tartakovsky), and the animated short from the Star Wars Holiday Special that introduced Boba Fett for the very first time (The Story of the Faithful Wookiee). This is amazing!!

When all of this was first announced a few weeks ago we knew what content was coming, but in the “This Week in Star Wars” show yesterday, we learned that all of these are coming in under the banner of “Star Wars: Vintage Collection.” This isn’t to be confused with The Vintage Collection action figure line, but rather is how these older, non-canon shows are being labeled. I think that’s a great thing, as it ties them all together but also hopefully helps casual viewers distinguish these from canon content.

And the cover art looks fantastic:

And from what I can tell, this leaves only the Droids animated series left to yet be on Disney+, and hopefully that happens soon too. If it does, we’ll have basically every Star Wars film and show that has ever been made on the streaming platform, all in one place.

I can’t wait to re-watch these shows today!
