The Lucasfilm Studio Showcase panel kicked off Star Wars Celebration 2023 this morning with the focus on a number of different Star Wars projects. There was a look at Andor, The Acolyte, The Mandalorian, Skeleton Crew, Ahsoka, and some epic announcements about the upcoming theatrical films from the franchise. But Lucasfilm also took a few moments to highlight another major project that will be coming this summer: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
The movie stars Harrison Ford in his return as Indiana Jones, alongside newcomers Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Indy’s god-daughter Helena and Madds Mikkelson as the villainous Voller. The movie will release on June 30, 2023, and the second trailer was released. Take a look:
The film is directed by James Mangold and will explore Indy in a different time period as he must adapt to a new world. But even as he does so he faces an old, very familiar threat, as Voller is a Nazi who, as the trailer says, is seeking to correct the mistakes that Hitler made. It leads the characters on an epic quest for a mysterious artifact that could change everything, and Indy, Helena, and Voller are all after it.
We’ll learn more when the film releases this summer, but it looks like another fun and thrilling Indiana Jones adventure! Additionally, a new poster was released for the film, which looks great:
I really hope it is a fitting ending for Indy and Ford. I’m sure I’ll love it.
