We’re less than two weeks away from the return of The Mandalorian, and we got a new look at the second season during Monday Night Football!
The trailer is just a minute long and didn’t reveal much new, but it does its job of building hype. Check it out!
The Mandalorian returns to Disney+ for its second season beginning on Friday, October 30, with new episodes then releasing weekly. As the trailer explains, Din Djarin (aka the Mandalorian) sets out on a quest with the Child to return it to its kind – and, as this trailer revealed, that apparently leads Djarin to look for other Mandalorians as well.
There’s a lot to be excited about for this season, including some heavily reported and rumored appearances from familiar characters in the Star Wars universe. I wondered whether any of them would be officially confirmed before the season premieres, but it looks like the answer is no. Just like with season one (and Star Wars marketing in general), the trailers for season two haven’t really shown us much of anything. There are some exciting shots and interesting lines, but hardly any spoilers whatsoever.
And that all makes sense. Why? Because when it comes to a popular and beloved brand like Star Wars, with an already-established TV series that was very well-received in season one, the approach doesn’t need to be telling you what’s going to happen or revealing some thrilling appearances. Just like the Child was kept secret in season one, so too is much being kept secret for season two. The marketing for this show simply needs to build excitement, not give answers. And they’re doing exactly that.
I’ll have a breakdown of this mini-trailer coming soon, but for now, enjoy re-watching it! This is the way!
