New Galactic Legends coming to Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes: Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and Sith Eternal Emperor!

There was some pretty massive news announced on Tuesday for the popular Star Wars mobile game, Galaxy of Heroes! Coming soon will be two new Galactic Legends characters, as we’ll be getting Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and Sith Eternal Emperor Palpatine.

As you may have guessed, both of these iterations are from the sequel trilogy, as it looks like this version of Luke will be from The Last Jedi, while this version of Palpatine will be from The Rise of Skywalker. And I’ll be honest: this is the most excited I’ve been for new characters in a long time in this game. I’ve made it no secret that the character collection aspect is my favorite part of the game, and so I’m always very interested in seeing which new characters will be introduced – and I am absolutely ecstatic about these two.

However, I’m not quite as excited about the fact that two new Galactic Legends are coming so soon. If you’re not familiar with the game, Galactic Legends was a new category created earlier this year, when the first such characters were released, Rey and Supreme Leader Kylo Ren. And without any doubt these two Galactic Legends are insanely powerful and easily the strongest two characters in the game. So basically, you need a Galactic Legend or else you’re in trouble if you’re wanting to be competitive in the end-game stages. So I’m honestly pretty stunned that we’re getting two more Galactic Legends so soon, and I’m not sure that’s a wise move for the health of the game – but I’m sure it is for CG’s pocket books, which is of course all they’re concerned with.

And that’s because the Galactic Legends requirements are the most absurd and insane this game has ever seen, and it sounds like that will be the case this time around too. The first batch of requirements were already announced, and they’ll be announced every two weeks until the release of these characters. For Luke, the first batch of requirements are: Mon Mothma (at Relic 5), Threepio & Chewie (at Relic 5), Old Ben Kenobi (at Relic 5), Rey (Jedi Training) (at Relic 7), and C-3PO (at Relic 5). On the positive side, Rey is needed for Galactic Legend Rey, and C-3PO is a phenomenal and versatile character, so those are fine. But Mothma and Threepio & Chewie aren’t even farmable yet, so… yeah. For the Emperor, the first batch of requirements are: Admiral Piett (at Relic 5), Royal Guard (at Relic 3), Darth Vader (at Relic 7), Emperor Palpatine (at Relic 7), and Director Krennic (at Relic 4). Again, the positive here is that Palpatine is needed for Galactic Legend Kylo, while Darth Vader is a top-tier character, so those are fine too. But Admiral Piett hasn’t even been released yet… lol.

So yeah, regarding Piett, his kit was also released on Tuesday, and honestly it looks very good and exciting. And CG said that they will shorten the normal release schedule for Piett so that he will be farmable by the release of the Emperor. They said it’ll be six weeks after release that he’ll be farmable, so I think we can definitely expect these Galactic Legends to drop about six weeks or so after the release of Piett.

So all things considered, these are three new characters that I’m really excited to see added to the game, but I’m just not thrilled with two more Galactic Legends so soon. I’m not sure what that will do for the health of the game. So I’m a bit conflicted, but probably most of all I’m just excited for these characters who I’ve been looking forward to.
