It’s a great day to be a Star Wars fan!
This afternoon at the D23 Expo, Lucasfilm and Marvel combined forces for a superstar panel teasing much of their upcoming content. Lucasfilm was up first, and they delivered in a big way. Hosted by Kathy Kennedy, Lucasfilm promoted Andor, Willow, Tales of the Jedi, The Bad Batch, Ahsoka, Skeleton Crew, The Mandalorian, and Indiana Jones. There wasn’t anything new announced here, but unlike at Star Wars Celebration, most of the trailers were publicly released alongside the panel.
The most significant is, of course, the trailer for the franchise’s flagship series, The Mandalorian. Season three will premiere early in 2023, and it will continue the journey of Din Djarin and Grogu as they return to Mandalore. And get ready for tons of Mandalorian action to come with it.
Then there’s Tales of the Jedi, the latest Star Wars animated series. This is a series of six animated shorts, three of which are about Ahsoka Tano and three of which are about Dooku’s days as a Jedi. All six episodes will drop on Disney+ on October 26! It looks fantastic.
Andor is just under two weeks away from its debut, on September 21, but a new trailer was released in promotion of it as well.
In non-Star Wars properties, a new trailer for Willow was also released! The series will premiere on October 30, and today Christian Slater was revealed to be part of the cast as well.
