The galaxy’s most adorable duo is reunited once more, as Din Djarin and Grogu are back together.
That might confuse some fans of The Mandalorian when season 3 rolls around next February, as when we last saw them at the end of season 2 they were saying goodbye, with Luke Skywalker taking Grogu to train him. But that lasted all of a few episodes of a different series, as in The Book of Boba Fett we see Grogu choose to leave his training with Luke and return to Djarin.
The two are reunited on Tatooine while Djarin is in the midst of a fierce battle in the streets of Mos Espa alongside Boba Fett, and as Fett’s Rancor gets loose in the streets, Djarin tries to stop it. But, in a twist, it is Grogu who saves Djarin and stops the Rancor, using the Force.
Pedro Pascal, who plays Djarin, recently commented on this changing dynamic and hinted at how it will continue to affect their relationship, telling Empire that it “reflects the power that Grogu is developing, starting to ask the question: who will be protecting who?”
In The Mandalorian season 3, the duo are apparently going to be making their way to Mandalore, which means plenty of interactions with other Mandalorians – and plenty of danger. I’m really interested in seeing Grogu’s continued growth, and these comments only serve to hype that up all the more. He’s now received a little bit of Jedi training, and he’s shown that he can protect the others around him more and more (as opposed to them all protecting him the whole time). It seems that will be continuing when The Mandalorian returns.
