Yes, you can actually play as a Gonk Droid in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

In a game that features over 300 playable characters, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga includes most of your favorite characters for fans to play as.

And yes, that includes a Gonk Droid.

A Gonk Droid is one of those 300 playable characters, and though I know that you might be wondering what use playing as a Gonk Droid would be in a game like this, I also know that you really just can’t wait to do exactly that. Don’t hide it, just embrace your destiny. And as we near the game’s release, GameUnboxingReviews on Youtube got an exclusive sneak peak at the Gonk Droid in action in the game:

The video shows a Gonk Droid running around and exploring some iconic and Star Wars locations, making the familiar “gonk sound,” and even kicking butt in combat against stormtroopers, battle droids, and sand people.

Gonk Droids have been in Star Wars since the beginning, appearing in A New Hope on Tatooine in the background. Since then, the droids have garnered almost a cult following of sorts among Star Wars fans who find the droids lovable and humorous, and the most prominent Gonk Droid to be featured actually came just last summer in The Bad Batch, as “Gonky” was basically one of the crew on the Havoc Marauder who helps save the day at times.

Ok, in all seriousness, I know this article is a bit on the lighter, more humorous side, but it’s good to have some fun. And that’s exactly what these LEGO games are designed to be, and it’s a perfect avenue to include stuff like this. With so many different playable characters, it’s awesome to have a few that are just purely fun, nostalgic, funny inclusions like a Gonk Droid. I absolutely cannot wait for this game and explore all the fun nods and details like this that are included!
