Hello there!
At long last, we have our first look at the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series, and it looks glorious. Best of all was that the first teaser trailer for the series dropped this afternoon, giving us a look at Ewan McGregor back as Kenobi, at the various Inquisitors on his tail, at Tatooine and new locations, and some epic musical accompaniment featuring some of John Williams’s best hits.
This looks amazing, but it wasn’t just the trailer that was released today! We also got an Entertainment Weekly cover featuring Kenobi, as well as a series of images from the show and some brief descriptions about what’s happening.
This all looks incredible, and I’ll be breaking down the trailer and the images and everything we learned from all of these things in the coming days. But this project is the one that I’ve been most looking forward to for quite a while, and it’s so cool to realize that it’s almost here! Obi-Wan Kenobi will debut on Disney+ on May 25, the anniversary of A New Hope‘s release in 1977, and obviously stars McGregor as the legendary Jedi Master, alongside Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader and a tremendous cast. The series is directed by Deborah Chow, with Joby Harold as writer. And if this trailer is anything to go by, we’re in for an epic ride.
