LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will apparently feature six character DLC bundles

A trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was recently released at Gamescon, and it’s as amazing as you’d expect for a LEGO Star Wars game!

The bad news, however, is that the release date for the game has been pushed back to Spring 2021. It was originally scheduled to release this year (maybe even in October), but it has been delayed – presumably due to COVID-19-related issues. And though that’s disappointing to have to wait longer to play this highly-anticipated game, ultimately it is much better to wait in order to release a good game than rush a game early that isn’t very good. So I’m ok with this.

One other note that we got is in connection to the Deluxe Edition for the game. This edition certainly looks worth it, as it includes the game, awesome packaging (that looks like you’re sliding Darth Vader’s helmet off as you remove the sleeve), an exclusive Luke with blue milk minifigure, and character bundles. It’s that last point that I want to specifically focus on here, as it was revealed that there are six DLC character packs for the game (included in the Deluxe Edition), including characters from Rogue One, Solo, The Mandalorian, The Bad Batch, and more!

That’s four listed out of the six that are coming, so it makes sense to me that the other two would be The Clone Wars and Rebels, but I suppose it could be something else (like a Galaxy’s Edge tie-in or something, since we know one of the ships will be in the game). I also think it’s pretty cool that there will be characters from The Bad Batch in this game! We don’t know the release date for this game nor the series, but I wonder if they could both be coming in the spring? If so, this could be a nice way to promote things.

Anyway, it’s good that there will be some characters from projects outside of the nine film Skywalker saga, but there’s nothing about any levels, so for those hoping there would be levels based on some of the standalone films or TV shows, I suppose this doesn’t give a whole lot of confidence.
