There’s a rumor that Donald Glover could be reprising his role as Lando Calrissian for a Disney+ series!

Before getting your hopes up, understand that this is just a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt and as always wait for an official announcement.

But recently, the hosts of Kessel Run Transmissions, Noah Outlaw and Corey Van Dyke, reported that they’ve been hearing Donald Glover will be returning to the role of Lando Calrissian for a Disney+ series!

Part of the reason I’m even bothering to write an article about a rumor like this is because these guys were just recently very right on another show, as they were the first ones (at least the first I’ve seen) mentioning that a Bad Batch show was coming. When they mentioned it a lot of people thought there was no way that was true, but of course, it is! So that recent hit (one that surely couldn’t have just been made up by connecting some dots) gives them more credibility when it comes to a report like this.

So anyway, it’s nowhere near official, but it does make sense – and I’d be really excited if it happens!

I’m really hoping that we’ll get sequel stories to Solo: A Star Wars Story, and since Glover was one of the biggest stars of the film and absolutely nailed the portrayal of Calrissian, it’s understandable that Lucasfilm would want to do more with him and the character. Plus, there’s plenty of storytelling potential – heck, in Solo Lando is even talking about “the Calrissian Chronicles,” something that would be a natural avenue for more stories.

What I think would be especially cool is if this series followed a similar format to the Young Indiana Jones TV series. George Lucas designed that series to be like a bunch of mini-films (meaning he gave the show movie-like attention), and the format of the show saw bookends to the episodes with an older Indiana Jones setting up and narrating the adventure of the episode, which would feature a younger Indy. So think about how cool a Lando Calrissian show would be that has Billy Dee Williams at the beginning and ending of each episode as an older Lando, setting up the adventures that take place episode-to-episode, which star Donald Glover as a younger version of the main character! I think that would be absolutely amazing.

But whether or not they go that route, my point is that there’s a ton of room for storytelling with Lando Calrissian, and Donald Glover was fantastic in the role. I’m really hoping for more Solo content, and so this would be very welcome if it turns out to be true!!!
