Some exciting Star Wars book news was announced today, as it was revealed that From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back will release November 10, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the beloved film!
The format will be very just like the previous From a Certain Point of View book, which was released in 2017 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of A New Hope. That means that this will feature a collection of 40 different stories written by 40 different authors. The full list of authors will be revealed on Monday, but familiar writers like Amy Ratcliffe (Star Wars: Women of the Galaxy), Gary Whitta (writer on Rogue One, Rebels, and From a Certain Point of View), E.K. Johnston (Ahsoka, Queen’s Shadow, Queen’s Peril, and From a Certain Point of View), Alexander Freed (Alphabet Squadron, Rogue One novelization, Battlefront: Twilight Company, From a Certain Point of View, and more), Zoraida Córdova (A Crash of Fate and From a Certain Point of View), and others have already shared that they are contributing to it. There will be familiar contributers and brand new ones, all telling stories set within the context of Empire.
I greatly enjoyed the first book and was really hoping that they would be doing one for Empire, and so I’m really glad to hear it announced. I love this format for telling stories about background characters while also paying tribute to the film. I can’t wait to read it!
