Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes is a mess right now and full of missed opportunities

In December, a pretty major event happened in the Star Wars world: The Rise of Skywalker was released!

This was the final chapter of the Skywalker saga, and as such it rightly has garnered a lot of publicity and attention. It’s a big deal. But if you play Galaxy of Heroes, the popular Star Wars mobile game, you might not have realized it. The film released on December 19, yet all we’ve gotten so far are three marquee events: General Hux and Sith Trooper on December 10, and Resistance Hero Finn on December 18. Since the film’s release nearly a month ago, we’ve gotten ZERO updates.

That’s zero updates to the biggest Star Wars mobile game in the past month despite having the easy opportunity to market and milk the final film of the Skywalker saga.

Not only that, but we’re in the greatest time ever for Star Wars content. This past fall, we got the second and final season of Star Wars: Resistance, the first season of the first-ever live-action Star Wars show The Mandalorian, and the final chapter of the Skywalker saga, The Rise of Skywalker. And then next month, we’re seeing the return of The Clone Wars with a seventh season. There has never been a time with this much Star Wars content… and the developers of Galaxy of Heroes have apparently been missing all of it.

Zero characters from The Mandalorian. Zero characters from Resistance. And three characters from The Rise of Skywalker… and none for a month. This game really is a disaster right now, but they at least were able to create new content of packs to sell for Christmas. So they’re making money, but the game is horrible and boring.

And if you look up “missed opportunity” in the dictionary, you might as well just see the last few months of Galaxy of Heroes.
