Brian Tee, who voiced the Ronin in Star Wars Visions, hints that a return to the franchise is in the works

When Star Wars Visions premiered, one of the standout episodes was “The Duel”, which introduced the Ronin: a mysterious warrior villager who wields a red lightsaber.

It was a very well-received short, and it had many fans hoping for more. Could that ‘more’ be in the works? There was a really curious interview recently that Collider did with Brian Tee, who voiced the Ronin. He was asked if he would consider returning to the Star Wars universe in some way, and he responded, “Oh, absolutely, no question. And I think, you know, I don’t want to give any spoilers, but we are definitely in the works right now, [I’m] probably doing something in the near and distant future, and I’ll probably stop there before I go any further.”

That seems to confirm that Tee will be returning to Star Wars. But what we don’t know is for what. Here is what is interesting, though: Visions is returning for a third season later this year, and Kamikaze Douga is returning as one of the production studios after not being involved with season two. Kamikaze Douga, as you probably could have guessed, was the studio that did “The Duel” in season one. That makes this all the more curious, since it seems possible we could see a return of the Ronin soon.

Personally, I hope so. It was one of the best episodes of the first season, and a continuation of the story would be very welcome. I’ve hoped that Star Wars would use some of these episodes to provide a foundation for future stories, and this would seem to be one of the best contenders to do that. We’ll find out soon enough whether or not Tee’s return is for this or for another reason, but it’s pretty interesting to note and exciting to think about.
