Hello there!
It has been twenty years since the Star Wars prequel trilogy came to a close with Revenge of the Sith, the epic and pivotal chapter of the Skywalker Saga that saw Anakin Skywalker fall to the dark side and become Darth Vader, facing down his master and tearing down everything he held dear. It’s a movie that has endured as standing out not just as the best of the prequels, but one of the most thrilling and emotional Star Wars projects ever made.
To celebrate twenty years, Lucasfilm is bringing the movie back to theaters, for a limited time. Beginning on April 25, Revenge of the Sith will be in select theaters for a week, where fans can see the movie on the big screen once again.
In announcing this, Lucasfilm also shared a poster that was created by Matt Ferguson, whose posters on some previous Star Wars films at their anniversary have become some of my very favorites that are out there (his posters for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi are absolutely amazing. Seriously, look them up. You’ll thank me.) The poster puts Anakin / Vader center stage, with the fiery environment of Mustafar providing a fittingly traumatic and dark feel. It’s simply gorgeous.
A lot has happened in twenty years for Star Wars, but this movie will always have a special place in the saga. I’m excited to celebrate as the anniversary approaches.
