First official images from Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew released as Disney+ teases what’s ahead in 2023

Disney+ has recently been promoting the wealth of content that’s coming to the streaming service in 2023, and there’s a ton of it.

So much so that not everything can fit into a short promo like this one, but Star Wars and Marvel take center stage (as you’d expect). And in the process, we actually got our first real official look at a couple of the shows releasing from the galaxy far, far away next year.

There is, of course, a significant focus on The Mandalorian, using footage we’ve mostly seen before in the trailers, and there’s a brief glimpse of Echo from The Bad Batch, but then there’s a look at Ahsoka Tano from Ahsoka, marking the first publicly released shot from the series. It’s actually a glimpse from the trailer shown at Celebration back in May, but that was never released to the public.

Interestingly, Star Wars also released descriptions about the shows coming next year, and the description for Ahsoka says: “Set after the fall of the Empire, Star Wars: Ahsoka follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.” That’s pretty vague and there’s not much new, but investigating a threat that’s emerging… hmm, I wonder if it might be a certain blue-skinned Imperial Grand Admiral? Just a guess.

There was also our first look at Skeleton Crew, though in a more roundabout way. In the video officially released by Disney+ there’s no mention of the series, but in a TV spot taking a similar approach of highlighting upcoming projects, it was included. And we get our first glimpse at Jude Law in the series:

The description for that series is even more vague than for Ahsoka: “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, set in the New Republic era, is about a group of kids lost in the Star Wars galaxy trying to find their way home.”

Though there’s a lot about these shows that we don’t yet know, what we do know is that 2023 will be a year packed with exciting Star Wars content. We already know of six different shows that will be dropped on Disney+, with The Bad Batch, The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, Skeleton Crew, Visions, and Young Jedi Adventures. And that’s simply what we know about already! There are sure to be some other surprises along the way as well, and all of that amounts to a very exciting year ahead for Star Wars fans!

What project are you most excited for?
