We’re just 90 days from the return of The Mandalorian.
Lucasfilm announced on Thursday that the third season of their flagship Disney+ program will premiere on the streaming service on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
The announcement was made during a panel at CCXP, the Comic Con Experience in Brazil, and a trailer with some new scenes was shown to audiences in person. Additionally, showrunner Jon Favreau reportedly shared with the audience that season three is bigger than the previous two and will feature some surprises, as well as more space battles.
Based on what we’ve previously heard and seen about the season, it will center around Din Djarin’s quest to ‘redeem’ himself for having removed his helmet, and this will lead back to Mandalore. But it’ll also feature Bo-Katan Kryze and tons of other Mandalorians – and, of course, the ever lovable Grogu.
It was previously announced to be coming in February, and we’ve just come to assume that when a month is stated like that it’ll be at the end of the month. So it’s really no big deal that it’ll be a day after February ends, especially since that happens to be a Wednesday. It’s nice to have an official date, though, and I can’t wait for this season. It figures to be packed with action and excitement, and if Favreau is promising it’ll be bigger in scope than the previous two seasons, it’ll surely be epic.
We don’t have long to wait before it premieres, but in the meantime we have another Lucasfilm live-action series airing with Willow, and in a month we’ll see the premiere of The Bad Batch as well. So there’s plenty to keep us occupied while we wait!
