Lucasfilm releases new clip, behind-the-scenes look at Willow

In just two weeks, we’ll return to the world of Willow with the premiere of the Disney+ series that is a follow-up to the 1988 film.

Lucasfilm today released the first clip from the series, which shows Kit Tanthalos (played by Ruby Cruz) showing up with a group of travelers to enlist the help of legendary sorcerer Willow Ufgood (with Warwick Davis returning to the role). Kit is the daughter of Sorsha, and she is in search of her brother who has disappeared. Willow knows where he has been taken, but it will lead them on a journey into the unknown, beyond the edge of where maps will show.

Additionally, over the weekend Lucasfilm released a behind-the-scenes look at the series, featuring plenty of glimpses at the show while including interview snippets with Warwick Davis, Ron Howard, Jonathan Kasdan, and several of the newcomers to the cast who are helping to bring this magical world back to our screens.

The series picks up twenty years after the film, and it features the return of Davis to the starring role of Willlow, as well as Joanne Whalley returning as Sorsha. Joining the cast are Ruby Cruz, Erin Kellyman, Ellie Bamber, Tony Revolori, Amar Chadha-Patel, Christian Slalter, and more. Jonathan Kasdan (who co-wrote Solo: A Star Wars Story) is serving as series showrunner, while the original film’s director, Ron Howard, is executive producing. Also serving as executive producers are Kasdan, Brian Glazer, Kathleen Kennedy, Wendy Mericle, Roopesh Parekh, and Michelle Rejwan.

Willow will premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, November 30, dropping one week after the season finale of Andor. It’s great to have so much content from Lucasfilm, and I’m pumped for this series!
