Lando Calrissian’s daughter is named Kadara

By the time of his return in The Rise of Skywalker, Lando Calrissian had settled into a quiet life on the desert planet of Pasaana, but the reason why was based in tragedy.

Lando settled down and started a family, but while his daughter was still an infant she was kidnapped by the First Order. He searched for her, and clues eventually led him and Luke Skywalker to search for Exegol, which took them to Pasaana before the trail went cold. His daughter wasn’t mentioned in the movie itself, but the surrounding material released alongside the film did.

Now, we know her name: Kadara Calrissian.

That was revealed in Adam Christopher’s new Star Wars novel Shadow of the Sith, which tells the story of Lando and Luke searching for Exegol. We don’t know who Kadara’s mother is, but it’s worth noting at least that the name is similar to Kaasha Bateen, who was Lando’s lover at one point whom he wanted to settle down with.

While we still don’t know much about his daughter or his family, this does confirm that his daughter is not Jannah, who was introduced in The Rise of Skywalker. Prior to the release of the film it was reported that she would be revealed as his daughter, but it was apparently cut from the finished product. Confirmation that there was a storyline that was cut seemingly came from the various other sources accompanying the film that dealt with Lando’s daughter, while the film was silent on that front. It sounds like the final conversation between Lando and Jannah, at the victory celebration, was supposed to be a time of father and daughter reuniting, but that’s not what came through in the final version.

Because of all of that, it has been unclear whether Jannah actually is Lando’s daughter or not, but I think this settles it. Lando’s daughter was named Kadara.

  1. I don’t know, I think Jannah COULD be Kadara because if you recall, the First Order just refers their troops as numbers and Jannah called herself ‘Jannah’ since she has no clue of her actual name.

I personally think there should be a book or comic mini-series or Disney + limited where Lando and Jannah go find Jannah’s past and Lando’s daughter who may or may not be Jannah’s past as Kadara.
