Before the attention of Star Wars fans turns completely to Obi-Wan Kenobi when the new series releases near the end of May, we’ll get one last glimpse of the previous series, The Book of Boba Fett. On Wednesday, May 4th – a.k.a. Star Wars Day – a special episode of Disney Gallery: The Book of Boba Fett will be released on Disney+!
We got our first Disney Gallery special for the first season of The Mandalorian, releasing eight episodes giving fans a look behind the scenes at the creation of the series. The eight episodes provided an extensive and fairly comprehensive look at how the show was brought to life, which made sense given that it was the very first live-action Star Wars series ever made. So when season two of the show came along, a whole season of episodes wasn’t needed for the Disney Gallery look, but two special episodes were subsequently released: one looking at the making of the second season and the other looking at the return of Luke Skywalker.
And now, we’ll be getting another special episode, this time about The Book of Boba Fett. I’m a big fan of behind the scenes stuff like this, and it’s something that the Star Wars franchise has always done tremendously well. Excellent documentaries chronicling the making of Star Wars are easy to find, and it’s always great to see the thought behind certain things, to see how other stuff was brought to life, and to just get a better feel for how it all comes together.
So that will be dropping on May 4th, in celebration of Star Wars Day. There will be plenty of other celebrations going on, but it’s always cool when we get new content to commemorate it as well.
