According to Film Music Reporter, Ludwig Göransson is scoring the upcoming Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett!
Göransson provided the score for the first two seasons of The Mandalorian as well, knocking it out of the park. His work on the series rightly has led to two Emmy Awards, and I love that he’s going to be returning for The Book of Boba Fett. Göransson provided the score for Fett’s return in The Mandalorian season two, even providing a new theme for the character, and with the two series seemingly so closely connected it makes a ton of sense. And beyond that connection thematically, Göransson is simply a fantastic composer, so it’s always exciting news that he’ll be scoring a Star Wars project.
Göransson is also known for his stellar work on Black Panther, for which he won both an Academy Award and Grammy Award, among others. He’s returning to that franchise to score Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is set to release in 2022, and is also involved with a number of other projects. He’s one of the best composers in the business right now and his work is incredible, so I’m really glad it sounds like he’ll be returning for another Star Wars project.
The Book of Boba Fett premeires in December on Disney+. It is executive produced by Robert Rodriguez, Jon Favreau, and Dave Filoni and stars Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand.
