Bo-Katan Kryze is coming to Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes!

Bo-Katan Kryze is finally coming to Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes!

She has very strong synergy with the Mandalorian faction, and she seems to easily be the best leader for the faction as well, as her leadership provides the ability to assist, increased critical damage, and a brand new ability called “Ancestral Armor” that is granted to all Mandalorian allies. Her unique ability also looks really strong, granting Mandalorian allies increased protection and health and protection regeneration as long as Bo-Katan is alive. And then on top of all of that, it looks like she can be a strong damage dealer and also has a mass dispel and daze on her special ability. All things considered, her kit looks pretty good. You can also read some developer insights about the character and her kit here.

As for how to unlock Bo-Katan, that’s a bit of a surprise. She will be coming to the game via a marquee event, presumably later this week. Marquee events allow players to unlock the character and promote them to three stars through an easily accessible event, but to star up the character from there requires either spending lots of money or waiting many months. It’s definitely the most common way characters are released in this game, but many people wondered if Bo-Katan might be a significant enough character to warrant a different type of event. That is not the case.

But the release of Bo-Katan continues the recent push for content from The Mandalorian. Bo-Katan will be the fifth character to come to the game in the last five months, joining Moff Gideon, The Mandalorian (Beskar Armor), The Armorer, and the Dark Trooper. Four of those five characters were released via marquee events, while The Mandalorian was a Hero’s Journey event. Additionally, we recently got the Razor Crest as a new ship, available as a reward for the brand-new Conquest mode. It seems that at least one other character will be coming, since there’s still a fifth character presumably needed with an Imperial Remnant tag (Scout Trooper is by far the most logical choice), and rarely does this game ever release characters without building toward something they’ll be needed for later – so my point is that we’re probably not done with content from the show yet!

A key figure in The Clone Wars series who also played a key role in the second season of The Mandalorian, Kryze is a complicated character with a complicated past. The sister of Duchess Satine of Mandalore, Bo-Katan didn’t agree with her sister’s pacifist ways and joined the terrorist group Death Watch. But she didn’t go along with Maul’s takeover of the planet, helping Obi-Wan Kenobi escape and later enlisting the help of Ahsoka Tano to liberate the planet. Tano and Kryze led the Siege of Mandalore, ultimately capturing Maul and liberating Mandalore. Bo-Katan was set up as the ruler of Mandalore, but it was short-lived, for the Empire soon took over. Kryze later attempted to reunite Mandalore with the help of Sabine Wren in coming in possession of the Darksaber, but this was unsuccessful. At some point, Moff Gideon took the darksaber from her and Mandalore was devastated. Kryze still has ambitions to retake their home, but needs the darksaber to do so – and as of the end of season two of The Mandalorian, it’s in possession of Din Djarin instead. She figures to be a key figure in the series moving forward.
