Star Wars: Republic Commando is coming to Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch in April!

It was recently announced by Lucasfilm Games and Aspyr that Star Wars: Republic Commando will be coming to Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch on April 6!

This news is unexpected but exciting! The game was first released in 2005 and is considered one of the greatest Star Wars video games ever released, but it was originally available on only Xbox and PC. Though it’s currently available on Steam, the game is not exactly the easiest to play right now. But that will be changing in just over a month, with it coming to these new platforms. It will apparently include just the single-player campaign and will be $15, but both of those things are very reasonable.

The game focuses on the elite clone force “Delta Squadron,” a group of clone commandos led by RC-1138, aka “Boss” (who you play as). Obviously this game is set during the Clone Wars, and it sees Delta Squadron go on a series of dangerous and difficult missions for the Republic.

As a bit of a fun fact, Boss and Delta Squadron have actually been made canon again, even though the Republic Commando game is no longer considered as such. They appeared very briefly in an episode of The Clone Wars, “Witches of the Mist” (3.14), as they returned from Devaron with the bodies of the slaughtered Jedi, killed by Savage Opress.

But anyway, it’s pretty cool that this game is being brought to new platforms and will be more accessible even all these years later!
