Earlier today, the official trailer was released for the upcoming Star Wars show Jedi Temple Challenge!
The show was originally said to be releasing on Disney+, though today’s announcement said that instead it will be on the Star Wars Kids Youtube channel with new episodes weekly. It will premiere next Wednesday, June 3, with the first two full episodes dropping! There will be ten episodes in total.
The series stars Ahmed Best (making his return to Star Wars after playing Jar-Jar Binks in the prequels), who is playing Jedi Master Kelleran Beq, the host of the show. The series features kids going through a series of three trials as they try to become Jedi Knights.
Here’s the trailer:
It’s a pretty fun concept for a show and totally unlike anything we’ve seen from Star Wars before. I think it’s really awesome that Best is returning to the Star Wars universe for this, as that makes me happy. In addition to Best, Mary Holland will play “the wise-cracking protocol droid companion AD-3,” while Sam Witwer “gives a unique voice to the dark side of the Force.”
