EA confirms that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be the start of a new franchise!

Great news was revealed recently in an earnings call by EA CEO Andrew Wilson: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will serve as the start to a new franchise of games!

It has long been presumed and rumored that there would be a sequel to Fallen Order, but this is the first official confirmation of that. So it’s not exactly surprising, especially given the tremendous reception the game has received since it released last November, both in critical acclaim and sales. And it was well-deserved, too: the game is tremendous and is the Star Wars game we’ve been waiting for.

And one of the brilliant things about the story is that it stands alone perfectly fine if it’s a one-off, but it also sets up for more adventures down the road. And that’s a great place to be from a storytelling perspective. But from the story to the gameplay to the lore to the graphics to the music – everything about this game was so good that I am absolutely thrilled to hear that it will be the start of a franchise!

I am assuming that means that future games will continue to focus on Cal Kestis and his companions, and that’s perfectly fine with me! But I also think it could be cool for this franchise to keep the same basic format but expand to other characters at other times. Even if it just sticks with Cal, though, I’ll be very happy.

I loved Fallen Order, and I can’t wait to play more down the road when future games relaese!
