On Star Wars Day, we were given a new look at LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga!
First up was this awesome poster for the game:
Then there was an interview with StarWars.com about the upcoming game, and in it the developers revealed a few interesting tidbits: like, for instance, that you can start playing at any point in the saga (though I’ll certainly start from the beginning and play my way through!).
But they also revealed that there are nearly 500 characters in the game, and that many of them are playable! That’s a ton of different characters, and they mentioned that characters from Admiral Ackbar to Zorii Bliss will be there, including Yaddle and a few surprises.
Additionally, this will be the first time that The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker are in a LEGO game, and they confirmed that the Rey and Ben fight against the Praetorian Guards, the Luke vs. Kylo fight on Crait (which they said has a subtle moment of LEGO humor that makes them laugh), and the Orbak assault (which they said was a particular highlight) will be in the game.
So all of this to say: the game sounds amazing. LEGO Star Wars games are absolutely awesome and I love them, and I’m super excited about getting an expansive game that encompasses the entire saga. It’s so cool how many characters are going to appear, and I’m especially excited about seeing those new films make their debut in these games. This all sounds incredible.
We don’t yet know when it is releasing however, besides the general date of this fall. A video posted by Star Wars originally said October 20, but it was later re-uploaded without that date – so it’s unclear whether that date was incorrect or simply released early. Either way, it will be coming this fall, and I absolutely can’t wait to play it!
