If you’re a fan of Knights of the Old Republic, you probably should check out the new KOTOR mobile game, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.
Ok, I kid a bit about that last part, but yet another Old Republic character is making their way to the game. Darth Revan is officially arriving as a Hero’s Journey event, and EA released a trailer for it recently:
If you’re familiar with this game, however, you know that especially recently the developers have been engaging in something known as “power creep” – that is, they’ve somewhat backed themselves into a corner and now have to keep making each new character specifically better than previous characters. And that’s certainly true of Darth Revan, who looks to specifically counter Jedi Knight Revan (the current meta).
You can check out the full kit here, but here’s the gist of it: Darth Revan teams will be O.P. (overpowered), will be the new meta, will be incredibly hard to counter, and will be hard to obtain right away.
So anyway, that’s what’s happening with SWGOH currently. I still play this game everyday, but I’m not exactly ready for a different Revan now just taking over the meta from the previous Revan. It just seems kind of… boring. But I get that some people absolutely love KOTOR stuff and can’t get enough of it, so I’m happy for them.
