Disney releases trailer for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!

On Christmas Day, Disney released a brand-new look at Galaxy’s Edge, the new Star Wars theme park coming to Disney Land and Disney World in 2019.

The trailer featured John Williams’s fantastic new theme music for the park, as well as a look at the two main attractions – Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run and Rise of the Resistance – with interviews from those involved in bringing the park to life, including Lucasfilm VP Carrie Beck.

I’d really recomend watching the video to get a feel for what Galaxy’s Edge will be like, as it gives us our best look yet at those two main attractions.  For Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, you’ll team up with Hondo Ohnaka on a smuggling mission with the iconic ship.  It looks pretty cool.  And then for Rise of the Resistance, which Walt Disney Imagineering creative executive Scott Trowbridge calls “the most epic attraction we’ve ever built,” you’ll be a Resistance recruit standing up against the First Order, going up against Kylo Ren and AT-AT’s, among others.  Once again, this attraction looks pretty great as well.

Galaxy’s Edge is really going to be an awesome experience in which you can truly feel like you’re a part of the Star Wars universe.  You’ll be immersed into a setting that is meant to portray Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, and you’ll be thrust right into a certain setting in the galaxy in the sequel trilogy era.  But Carrie Beck also said this: “It’s exciting to think about this as only the beginning, and to think about how this land will be living and breathing and evolving.  There’s nothing actually as meaningful and as special than to provide a place for people to experience Star Wars with their family for decades to come.”  I wonder if that means that we’ll be getting updated things with the park as Disney and Lucasfilm want to explore different eras and aspects?  I’m not sure, but whatever the case, I’m excited to visit Galaxy’s Edge!
