Next week, after a year of waiting, Obi-Wan Kenobi finally makes his arrival to Star Wars: Battlefront II!
He comes alongside a brand new map of Geonosis, and he joins General Grievous as the Clone Wars-era characters to be brought to the game recently. To celebrate Kenobi’s arrival, EA and DICE released a beautiful new trailer of Kenobi and Grievous fighting on Geonosis. One thing is certain: they make absolutely great trailers.
Kenobi and Geonosis will arrive next Wednesday, November 28, and Clone Wars content will continue in the coming months with the anticipated arrivals of Count Dooku and Anakin Skywalker as well.
Battlefront II had a nightmarish start that it still hasn’t recovered from in the eyes of many common fans, but it has admittedly gotten much better in its first year. It’s miles ahead of the first modern Battlefront game, and EA and DICE have cut out the pay-to-play/win elements that plagued the game pre-launch. The game still isn’t what many fans wanted, but for what it is, it’s a pretty awesome game and very fun. There will be a new large-scale game mode that sounds pretty similar to conquest coming early 2019, and I think that could go a long way toward determining how long this game thrives.
Regardless, though, it’s good we’re finally getting Kenobi in Battlefront. He’s a truly iconic character in the Star Wars universe, and though it should have never taken this long to get him in the game, it’s going to be really awesome to play as him starting next week.
