Star Wars: Episode IX began filming last Wednesday, and we know from J.J. Abrams’ photo from the set that at least John Boyega and Joonas Suotamo were filming that day.
Today, the beloved droid BB-8 begins filming for the movie.
Brian Herring, who does the puppeteering for BB-8, tweeted today that it’s the first day for the heroic Resistance droid:
Everyone knew that BB-8 was going to be in the movie so there’s nothing even remotely noteworthy about that, but it is worth pointing out that the droid is on set today for shooting. I’d imagine that BB-8 will once again have a significant role in Episode IX, just like he did in the first two films of the sequel trilogy, so I’m sure Herring will be on set for quite a few days during shooting.
