Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 will release in October, with a brand new spin-off series continuing “The Ninth Jedi” coming in 2026

The third volume of Star Wars: Visions is coming to Disney+ later this year.

We already knew that much, but the Visions panel at Star Wars Celebration Japan gave us tons of new information about the upcoming season. It will release on October 29, 2025, with all nine episodes dropping on Disney+ that day. Among the episodes will be the continuation of three stories from Volume 1: “The Duel”, “The Village Bride”, and “The Ninth Jedi” will all be returning. “The Duel” is continuing on with “The Duel: Payback”, “The Village Bride” continuing with “The Lost Ones”, and “The Ninth Jedi” continuing with “Child of Hope”.

It’s pretty exciting that these three stories will be continued, as I thought they were the three strongest episodes when Visions first released. To have three stories continue, and several brand new stories, seems to be a perfect way to do it for a new volume of the series. Visions is a non-canonical story that allows for lots of varying takes and angles on the galaxy told through some world-class anime studios, and I’m glad we’ll be continuing some stories and getting some brand new ones.

But that wasn’t all! In a surprise announcement at the end of the panel, it was revealed that Visions will be entering a brand new era, with Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi. This is a new long-form limited series that allows directors more time to tell their stories, and director Kenji Kamiyama will be continuing the adventures of “The Ninth Jedi” and “Child of Hope” with this brand new spinoff series, which will premiere in 2026.

From the moment “The Ninth Jedi” aired I was hoping it would serve as a sort of pilot for a future series, something I wrote about at the time, so I’m especially thrilled at this announcement. That episode seemed like a perfect story to continue, and I’m glad to see that happening in a major way. And I’m really excited and interested in this new phase of Visions, and what all it could mean for future stories.
