New behind-the-scenes featurette for Andor season two released at Star Wars Celebration

We’re just days away from the premiere of the second and final season of Andor, and the hype just continues to build.

At Star Wars Celebration Japan, the cast of Andor appeared on a panel to talk about the series. Showrunner Tony Gilroy was there, alongside stars Diego Luna, Adria Arjona, Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and Alan Tudyk. They spoke about what it was like to bring the show to action and teased what to expect in the final season, hinting at a darker tone.

O’Reilly shared that the season will open on Chandrila, with Leia Mothma’s wedding, which underscores how much Mon Mothma has to sacrifice. Arjona commented on the growing relationship between Bix Caleen and Cassian Andor, and how they really come together this season. Tudyk spoke to what it was like returning as K-2SO after all these years. It’s clear that the cast and crew are very proud of the final product.

That was teased all the more by the fact that those in attendance at the panel were treated to an exclusive early screening of the first episode, which has so far received terrific reviews. Though those who weren’t there will have to wait until Tuesday to see it, Lucasfilm did release a new featurette promoting Andor, which includes quite a few new shots, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and cast soundbites.

Andor premieres on Disney+ on April 22, with the first three episodes. Three new episodes will drop weekly on Tuesdays after that for a few weeks, with twelve episodes in total. Each three-episode arc will take place approximately one year apart, covering the four years leading right up to the events of Rogue One.
