We’re now less than a month from the premiere of Andor, and Star Wars has released a new trailer and poster in promotion of it.
If you, like me, were a little thrown off by the music choice in the first trailer (which was surely designed to appeal to a broader audience), this second trailer is very much in line with what we’ve come to expect from Star Wars – complete with the Imperial klaxons blaring, like was featured in the promotion of Rogue One.
The new footage has me especially hyped for the second and final season, which will release on Disney+ on April 22 with the first three episodes. The season will cover four years, leading directly into the events of Rogue One, with each three-episode arc taking place a year apart in the timeline.
Coming from the creative genius of showrunner Tony Gilroy, Andor is executive produced by Gilroy, Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna, Luke Hull, and John Gilroy. Ariel Kleiman (episodes 1-6), Janus Metz (episodes 7-9), and Alonso Ruizpalacios (episodes 8-12) are attached as directors, while the series stars Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu, Elizabeth Dulau, and Alan Tudyk, with Ben Mendelsohn and Forest Whitaker.
