Skeleton Crew featured a fun hidden nod to Star Tours

In the third episode of Skeleton Crew, as the main cast tried to escape from the pirate Port Borgo, there as a familiar ship spotted hidden in the background by some eagle-eyed viewers.

The ship is the StarSpeeder 1000, more well-known as the ship from Star Tours. You can see it arriving at the port while the Onyx Cinder attempts to leave. Here’s an image from Lucasfilm on what the ship looks like, followed by a few glimpses at the ship in Skeleton Crew.

It’s actually not the first time that the ship has appeared in the background in a live-action Star Wars project. It appeared on Jakku in Niima Outpost in The Force Awakens, and it was part of the galaxy fleet that arrived to reinforce the Resistance at the Battle of Exegol in The Rise of Skywalker.

Star Tours is a ride at Disney parks that takes fans on an adventure in the Star Wars galaxy, where you start off on a tour but get caught up into a bunch of action at familiar sites. It debuted in 1987 at Disneyland as a collaboration between George Lucas and Disney, and it has continued on since. The new iteration of it was launched in 2011, and it is updated regularly to accommodate newer Star Wars stories. So I’m guessing that it being included here will make it even easier for the tour to include a trip to Port Borgo at some time down the road.

For now, though, it’s just a really fun easter egg that the creators of the series put into this scene.
