A brand new teaser spot for Ahsoka was released today, with the 45-second video made up almost entirely of new footage we hadn’t yet seen.
The footage continues to indicate that this will be a sequel series to Rebels, as there’s new shots of Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, and Chopper. We also see the cockpit of the Ghost, and the exterior of the ship in atmosphere, giving us our best look yet at the beloved ship’s return for this show. And in the shot of the cockpit, Hera’s co-pilot looks an awful lot like a kid mostly blocked from view… further driving speculation that Jacen Syndulla will show up.
But there’s also new looks at the villains, especially Baylon Skoll, who is in league with his apprentice, Shin Hati, and the mysterious Morgan Elsbeth. And there’s an Inquisitor, Marrok, who we don’t really know much about – or if he’s aligned with these other villains or not. But all of this will begin to be revealed when Ahsoka premieres on August 23, with the release of the first two episodes.

Ahsoka is created by showrunner Dave Filoni, who serves as executive producer alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Carrie Beck, and Colin Wilson. Filoni wrote each episode, and as far as the directors go Filoni is joined by Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa in directing specific episodes. The series stars a cast that includes Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka Tano), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine Wren), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Hera Syndulla), Ray Stevenson (Baylon Skoll), Ivanna Sakhno (Shin Hati), Dianna Lee Inosanto (Morgan Elsbeth), David Tennant (Huyang), and Lars Mikkelson (Grand Admiral Thrawn).
