In the spirit of summer, LEGO recently debuted a Star Wars short all about Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader going on a summer vacation.
It’s classic LEGO animation, and if you’re a fan of some of the films they’ve done in recent years like The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, Terrifying Tales, or Summer Vacation, you’ll surely enjoy this three-minute short. It was released on the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel recently.
In the short, Palpatine tries to take Vader on vacation, but Vader can’t stop focusing on work. He’s trying to discover the location of the Rebel base using a stolen datacard, but unbeknownst to him Leia Organa has sent R2-D2 to try to stealthily retrieve it. The villains first vacation aboard the Halcyon starcruiser, and then they head to Niamos – the location seen in Andor. It’s a beach planet, so there’s of course an obligatory sand joke. And, well, in the end R2 is successful and the villains wind up with an unplanned and unwanted vacation on Hoth.
It’s a fun ride, like these LEGO projects always are. Take a watch below:
