This is where the fun begins!
A brand new trailer for Ahsoka was released today, and it’s epic. It contains a lot of new glimpses and dialogue from Ahsoka Tano, Hera Syndulla, and Sabine Wren, really setting this up as a sequel series to Rebels. Plus there’s our first chance hearing Mena Massoud as Ezra Bridger, and our first official look at Lars Mikkelson as Grand Admiral Thrawn, among plenty other great stuff.
Take a look at the trailer:
It was also announced alongside the trailer that the series will be getting a two-episode premiere, as the first two episodes of the show will drop on Wednesday, August 23. This is a tactic that Disney has taken for some of the other shows brought to Disney+, so it’s not exactly surprising, but it’s really cool that we’ll be getting to see quite a bit of the show next month. It’s expected to run for eight episodes, and it will follow Ahsoka, Sabine, and the others as they seek to counter the rising threat of Thrawn’s imminent return to the known galaxy.
A poster for the series was also released as well:
Ahsoka is helmed by showrunner the character’s creator and showrunner of The Clone Wars and Rebels, Dave Filoni, who serves as an executive producer alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Carrie Beck, and Colin Wilson. It stars Rosario Dawson as the titular character, and she’ll be joined by Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine Wren), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Hera Syndulla), Lars Mikkelson (Thrawn), Ray Stevenson (Baylon Skoll), Ivanna Sakhno (Shin Hati), and many others.
